Geo Pomona Waste Management

The Waste Collection Manager ensures safe, compliant waste collection while managing teams and developing waste management plans. This role involves policy formulation, resource allocation, fleet management, and environmental compliance oversight.

Duties

Policy Implementation

• Formulate and implement waste management policies and strategies

• Guide staff in interpreting Environmental Management Act and related regulations

• Document EMA violations and ensure corrective action

• Promote Research & Development in modern waste practices

• Enforce HR policies in compliance with Labor Act

• Establish equipment maintenance/replacement policies

Resource Management

• Manage waste collection budgets and resource allocation

• Maintain fleet (Refuse Compactors, Skip Trucks, etc.) to prevent service disruptions

• Conduct periodic resource audits

• Coordinate with stakeholders on asset management

• Analyze daily waste collection/disposal operations

• Manage equipment and material inventories

Waste Operations

• Oversee daily waste collection per scheduled plans

• Coordinate hazardous waste disposal

• Monitor/report on collection performance metrics

• Evaluate Waste Management Plans (WMPs) and recommend improvements

Administration

• Submit operational reports (weekly/monthly/annual)

• Authorize vehicle maintenance

• Develop waste reduction programs and public outreach

• Coordinate National Cleanup campaigns

• Handle public inquiries/complaints

• Build community relationships

Fleet/Environmental Management

• Implement vehicle tracking and driver monitoring

• Optimize fuel consumption and routing

• Conduct environmental awareness campaigns

Qualifications

• BSc (Hons) Civil Engineering or BEng Environmental Engineering

• MSc Strategic Management (advantageous)

• 5+ years waste management experience

• Strong leadership and operational skills

• Knowledge of environmental regulations

• Excellent organizational abilities
