The Nurse is responsible for identifying health needs early, determining risk and protective factors, and providing early intervention to prevent health issues from escalating.

Duties

• Manage all health matters at the center.

• Advise both staff and learners on health issues.

• Order drugs and other medical supplies as needed by the center.

• Keep accurate records of all drugs and supplies.

• Administer medication to inmates and maintain proper and accurate records of medications given.

• Accompany serious cases to the doctor.

• Advise parents or relatives, through the head, of any serious changes in the condition of their children.

• Conduct periodic inspections of the center and advise the head on areas needing attention, including staff residential areas.

Qualifications

• Registered General Nurse.

• State Registered Nurse.
