Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant – Wim Zimbabwe

The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Assistant will establish M&E systems and frameworks from scratch, including tool development, baseline data collection, and supporting proposal writing. This role is critical for building WIM Zimbabwe’s data management foundation, particularly for the Jewel of Heritage Gemstone Project.
Duties

Develop and design M&E frameworks, tools, and templates for emerging projects.

Conduct baseline assessments and data collection on community needs and mining activities.

Support project proposal preparation with relevant M&E input.

Establish databases and record-keeping systems for stakeholders and beneficiaries.

Assist in drafting organizational policies and SOPs.

Pilot field data collection methods and recommend improvements.

Document success stories, community feedback, and early outcomes.

Collaborate with leadership to align M&E findings with strategic planning.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Economics, Statistics, Development Studies, or related field.

Experience/interest in M&E systems, baseline research, and data collection.

Strong qualitative/quantitative data analysis skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; basic statistical software knowledge (desirable).

Excellent organizational and communication abilities.

Adaptability to a start-up environment and willingness to travel to field sites.

Interest in ethical mining practices (advantageous).
