Mine Surveyor – Zimasco

Zimasco (Pvt) Limited, a major player in Zimbabwe’s Ferrochrome sector, has an exciting and challenging career opportunity within its Shurugwi and South Dyke Mining Division. Applications are invited from suitably qualified, competent, and experienced individuals to fill the vacant post of Mine Surveyor on a three year fixed term employment contract basis, renewable subject to performance.
Duties

Carry out accurate surveys and produce relevant plans

Monitor and detect illegal mining activities within Zimasco claim blocks

Update mining faces for surface and underground mines and maintain accurate records of all mine workings

Guide underground mine development to ensure development work is done accurately

Develop subordinates

Manage SHE compliance within the Survey section
Qualifications
-
Bachelor of Science Degree in Survey or equivalent from a reputable tertiary institution
-
At least 10 years’ post qualification experience as a Mine Surveyor in both underground and surface mining
-
Mastery of Traversing, Levelling, Topographic Survey, Tachiometric Survey, and Stockpile Survey

Proficiency in GNSS and Total Station equipment, drone operation an advantage

Skilled in relevant survey software, with Vulcane Survey Modules a distinct advantage

Strong communication skills both written and verbal

Knowledge of safety management systems, NOSA SHE exposure an added advantage

Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably SAP, an added advantage
-
Clean Class 4 driver’s license
