Driver – Nutrition Action Zimbabwe

Duties

  • Safely transport NAZ employees, visitors, and freight as per schedules and directives.

  • Ensure possession and validity of all required vehicle and driver documentation.

  • Report accidents immediately to police and logistics department.

  • Adhere to traffic laws, organizational vehicle policies, and manufacturer guidelines.

  • Conduct daily vehicle checks and ensure readiness before field trips.

  • Perform minor repairs, keep the vehicle clean, and maintain accurate logbooks.

  • Ensure timely booking of servicing, fuelling, and other maintenance to avoid delays.

  • Prepare vehicles with necessary kits (fuel, medical, food, tools, etc.) for trips.

  • Securely handle official documents, parcels, and payments.

  • Support office and program staff with logistics tasks.

  • Ensure communication tools are operational during trips.

  • Provide logistical feedback during program meetings and reviews.

  • Uphold confidentiality and comply with all NAZ policies, including the Mandatory Reporting Policy.

Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s licence with clean record.

  • Knowledge of Zimbabwean traffic regulations.

  • At least 3 years’ experience as a professional driver, preferably in NGO or humanitarian work.

  • Ability to perform minor vehicle repairs.

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to work under minimal supervision and adapt to changing program needs.

  • Basic knowledge of vehicle electrics/mechanics is an added advantage.
