Zimasco (Pvt) Limited, a leading player in Zimbabwe’s Ferrochrome industry, is inviting applications from suitably qualified, competent, and experienced individuals for the position of Drilling Assistant within its Shurugwi & South Dyke Mining Division.

Duties

• Assist the Drilling Operator in executing all drilling operations.

• Maintain drilling equipment, lay core according to depth, couple drilling rods, ferry water, secure and carry core trays, and grease equipment.

• Assist with rig setup and operation.

• Read gauges, operate pumps, and collect core samples under the supervision of the Drilling Operator.

• Ensure that drilling operations comply with set procedures, standards, and safety regulations.

• Complete daily drilling reports and maintain accurate records of drilling activities.

Qualifications

• At least 5 Ordinary Level passes including Mathematics and English.

• Diploma in Survey, Geology, or equivalent from a recognised tertiary institution is an added advantage.

• Minimum of 1 year working experience in a mining environment.

• Full Blasting License (unendorsed) is an added advantage.

• Knowledge of safety management systems; exposure to NOSA SHE System is an added advantage.

• Good communication skills (verbal and written).

• Clean Class 4 Driver’s Licence is a must.
